NEW ORLEANS

November 3-10, 2015
It has been over 20 years since I was invited to come and visit New Orleans by a work colleague  and finally I made it. It is certainly colourful and unique. A quick visit to Bourbon St in the daytime convinced me that I did not need to see more of what that street had to offer. I was so glad that I ventured further and got to see more of the diversity that makes up New Orleans.

November weather  was tropical, warm and humid. That changed half way through the visit when suddenly temperatures plummeted and  cold wind blew off the water.  Had some amazing food in the Arts/Warehouse District and off course got to sample a Fried Shrimp Po Boy from the Parkside Bakery and Tavern. This place has got the thumbs up from the President.

Could have spent more time grazing through a huge number of eateries but happy to have got a taste of what NOLA has to offer.

Another highlight was visiting the WW2 Museum. Extraordinary displays and a fantastic insight into this terrible period of world history.
