Chicago

Chicago, June 17-18, 2014
First time to Chicago, I ended up staying in a really hip neighborhood of Bucktown/Whicker Park about four subway stops from downtown (The Loop). I seem to have arrived on the hottest day this year, then rain the next day.
Chicago appears to  be a prosperous city blessed with significant architectural heritage. But I cannot understand how the above ground rail system has survived. Whole city blocks are covered in rusting, decaying above ground rail continually rumbling by. This is contrasted by pubic art installations by Picasso, Miro, Kapoor and Gheiry designed outdoor performance space in Millenium Park.
