Napa Valley
St Helens Aug 30, 2010
Breakfast at beautiful Sauselito on San Franciscos’ north shore. We could have spent a lot more time here, wonderful relaxed atmosphere, the sun was shining and the rigging on the sailboats was tinkling as we admired what seemed like hundreds of boats at the marina.
We were heading towards Lake Tahoe so spent the rest of the day meandering through the Sonoma and Napa Valley wine growing regions.
Very reminiscent of the Barossa valley with low hummocky hills fringing a valley dominated by yellow grasslands with acres of green vines heavy with fruit. Tasted a few lovely wines and admired some interesting objects at the the Cornerstone in Sonoma.
We had a lovey quite night camping in the Botha Napa State Park in St Helens. It was the first time on this trip that we camped by a waterbody that had very little water flowing through it, a mere trickle.
St Helens is a very chic town with some beautiful boutiques and a Boulangerie where we had ‘cafe au lait’ and a ‘pain au chocolat’ the next day.

Looks like you're getting some splendid sunny days. Keep the posts coming.
