Three More Sleeps
Thursday June 24, 2010
Hammer – the young roughneck – travelled through Alaska nearly 30 years ago. He always knew he would go back but it took him 20 years to convince me to go along with him.

This blog is our account of (re)visiting the Chilkoot trail, canoeing down the Yukon, fighting off my fear of bears and getting close to nature as we travel through Alaska, British Columbia and Western United States.

Only three more sleeps and we are off…. Into the Wild.
Corky? Where did that come from? Please tell us the story of the one known as Corky?
But when you think about it, “Hammer and Corky” are two great names for adventures like “Cook and Banks” or “Lewis and Clark.”
Definitely not in the spirit of “Tom and Jerry” or “Rocky and Bullwinkle” I hope.
Those of us left behind in Sydney are all jealous of your adventure. Its been down to 4 degrees here since you left, so you are not missing much.
Looking forward to the blog. Write as often as the Deer flies, moose and bear allow.
