Petit Mont Blanc

Today we walked a more gently undulating trail along a river valley towards Petit Mont Blanc. Another blue sky morning, we passed through open meadows of alpine flowers, grazing cattle and snow covered mountain peaks in all directions.
By the afternoon the clouds rolled in and we got caught in a downpour. Despite the rain, the walking was still relatively pleasant. We got back to our apartment just in time to see Orica Greenedge win the team time trial in the Tour de France and the very popular Simon Gerrans take the yellow jersey.
